ADALYNS FIRST HALLOWEEN

I'm not even going to try to play this cool. I began today so stressed out. We initially didn't plan on going trick or treating because with Virginia being Virginia, the weather dropped out of nowhere. My plan was to just answer the door with Adalyn dressed up. Around 9:00am my mom called and told me that she decided to take ALL 6 of my siblings trick or treating since it's Addys first halloween. This meant my game plan of wearing sweats and no makeup was out the window.

BABY PLAYDATES

It is so cool that we are now at the age where everyone is having babies. When I look back on my career, I truly made some incredible friends. Now here we all are years later popping out babies. It is so funny thinking back to drinking liquor out of penis straws to now cleaning up baby spit up.

OUR FIRST HALLOWEEN FESTIVAL | COX FARMS 2017

We had such an incredible time at Cox Farms 2017 Fall Festival with Adalyns godmother Caroline and her godbrother Evan. We could not have picked a better day to go. Aside from the 16 buses parked out front and the crazy amount of field trips, everything was wonderful. We were blessed with a perfect fall day with breeze and sunshine. Surprisingly the place wasn't packed and we didn't have to wait at all do to anything.

MONTH FIVE | A LETTER TO MY DAUGHTER

I have a love/hate when it comes to writing these because as much as I love looking back on the past month, my heart grows sad realizing how fast time is going. Adalyn, you're almost 6 months old. How did that happen? That's half a year. 5 months has flown by in a blink of an eye. I have no idea where to even begin.

MONTH FOUR | A LETTER TO MY DAUGHTER

This is almost 2 weeks late but girl, you've been a handful recently so we will let it slide. I'll be honest, I really delayed writing this post. I dont know why. I think a part of me is really sad. Time with you is flying by so quickly and in the past month you've changed so much. I am sure I say that every monthly post but this time, it's the most it's ever been.

ADDYS FIRST POOL DAY!

My sweet girl finally had her first pool experience! Adalyn loves baths so I just knew she would be all about the pool. I decided to wait until the pools had been open a bit longer so that the water wouldn't be freezing. I decided to swing by Babies R Us to get a stroller fan so we could start taking walks, and ended up finding myself in the swim area.

OUR BREASTFEEDING JOURNEY

This blog post has been sitting in an empty draft folder since about 3 weeks after Adalyn was born. Things had just settled down and we finally were getting into a really positive breastfeeding routine. If you would have told me 5 months ago that I would be planning on writing a post about breastfeeding, I wouldn't believe you.

ADALYN GETS HER EARS PIERCED

When I was a wee lad, my mother got my ears pierced because everyone thought I was a boy. Yup. A boy. If only they could see how glammed and pinked out I am now! Anyways, it has always been something that I knew I wanted to do when if I had a daughter.

MONTH ONE | A LETTER TO MY DAUGHTER

As I watch you in this moment dreaming away I cannot help but feel overwhelming gratitude. I find myself looking at you in awe. Awe that you are mine. Awe that I grew something so perfect inside of me. Awe that something so perfect even exists, and that this perfect human is half of me and half of your Daddy who I love so much.

TIPS TO SURVIVING THE FIRST WEEKS WITH A NEWBORN

Coming home with baby can be one of the most exciting and one of the most terrifying experiences. I am someone who couldn't wait to get home with my baby girl. Adalyn was 3 1/2 weeks early so our hospital stay consisted of nurses coming into our room every hour on the dot to stab my daughters foot with a needle to check her blood sugar.

NEWBORN MUST HAVES

So you get preggers, pop a baby out, and then get sent home from the hospital. You then find yourself standing in your nursery with all this new baby shit thinking "what the fuck now"? If you're anything like me you then begin feeling overwhelmed with the amount of stuff you have, kinda in a similar way as walking into Forever21 before the mall closes with so many options and really no clue where to even begin.
