Jaclyn Hill recently began a new makeup tag involving her ride or die products, so I decided to jump on the bandwagon and tell you guys my TOP products of all time! These products range from brushes all the way to lippies! I spent a good bit of time digging through my makeup collection trying to sort out what I would qualify as my favorites and goodness gracious it was hard! All the products are linked to where you can by them, as well as a brief description on how I use them, and why they are my favorite!!!
Oh come on, we all knew this was going to be in here. I said before in my previous review of this product that it took me a little bit to warm up to it because I tend to lean more towards a icy highlight over a warm highlight, but goodness this won me over quick! Champagne Pop and Presseco Pop give such a beautiful glow that reflects the light in such a bronzed goddess kind of way. Every time I wear this I almost always mix both highlights together, or I will start Champagne Pop at the top of my cheek bones and melt Presseco Pop into the apple of my cheek area. I have never been a blush person but the blushes that come in this pallet are wonderful. The three shades are diverse enough that you can do so many different looks with each one, as well as mix and match to achieve a personalize color. I am not sure if this product is still available in stores anymore, however I did link the split pans that have the same colors for you to choose from if you cannot get your hands on this gorgeous pallet!
Can you tell that I have scratched every last bit of product I can get out of this tube? Because I totally did. This foundation really took me by storm. Even when I applied a tiny bit to my hand while in store, I could immediately tell that this was going to be a game changer. The coverage in this is insane. It doesn't matter if your skin is having a peak day or if your skin decided to turn against you, this will be your best friend. It is so light weight so you wont feel cake faced. There aren't a large amount of color choices for this so if you are like me and are in between colors depending on the season, I strongly suggest grabbing two and mixing and matching as your skin changes as the year goes on. I cannot recommend this enough. This is kinda a pain in the butt to find in stores but they almost usually always have it at CVS.
Whether you are trying to hide bags under your eyes, or you want to brighten your under eye area to the max, this is your stuff! A little of this goes a very long way so you wont have to worry about running out of it any time soon, even with daily use. I usually apply this on top of my foundation to my under eye area before I apply concealer. This gives you that extra oomph to cover any imperfections up to give you flawless look!
I was on the hunt for a beauty oil for a long time, but I was not going to fork out stupid amounts of money on beauty oils instagram models were promoting. I did some ingredient research and found out that rose oil is amazing for your skin. I have a difficult time with my skin being so dry that my foundation will start oxidizing very quickly throughout the day, which would leave my skin looking so patchy. I bought this on amazon but of course the day after it arrived I found it in target. This has a very beautiful rosey smell to it and is so smoothing on your skin. The best thing about this product is it has so many uses. I had already used half a bottle after 2 weeks because I was putting this on everything! How I use it day to day is I apply two drops to my skin after cleansing and toning, right before I apply my moisturizer. I then will apply a drop into my foundation for that little bit of extra moisture to prevent my skin for oxidizing later. If I tend to be having a super frizzy hair day, you better believe I am putting this in my hair as well.
You know the Disney Princesses in Disney Word? Yeah, they use this setting spray. A couple years ago I found this product turned over and spilling out of a cabinet at my old salon and there was just enough left for me to try it out once. I applied it, had 8 hours worth of clients afterwards, and my makeup did not move. This product will pretty much glue your makeup to your face. This stuff is just so damn good. It is a matte setting spray which helps it stay waterproof. The one tiny downside of this is it does have a minty feel to it, so if you spray it way too close to your face or get it in your eye, it will burn. But hey, beauty is pain.
I included this lovely blush in my Top 15 Drugstore Must Haves and this has stayed at the top of my list. I previously stated under the Champagne Glow Pallet portion of this post that I am not huge on blushes. This blush is perfect for someone who is not huge on blushes. It gives you the perfect amount of pinky glow without looking overbearing and like you are wearing blush. This is a wonderful addition to any highlight and contour routine with a flawless buttery formula.
Ben Nye Banana Powder blew up on the makeup scene with Kim Kardashians makeup artist was seen using it to set her under eye area. Unfortunately a lot of people do not understand how color correcting works. What ended up happening was everyone rushed to buy the banana powder tone not realizing it does not flatter most skin types and will leave a yellow tint under your eyes. That's where this bad boy come is. This is completely colorless and so it will not leave any color residue or cause any flash back in pictures. I use this not just to bake but to set my face as well.
I am always weirdly conflicted with primers. I think they are wonderful but I also think they are needed based off of what your skin is doing that day. This primer gives an amazing glow to your skin when you where it alone, and it allows for a soft and buttery foundation application. I just love how this looks and feels on my skin and I can definitely notice the difference on days my skin is super dry.
I want to hate Morphe but I really enjoy this pallet. I am fully aware that the entire brand is private labeled and is slammed with talc, but the colors in this is what won me over. This for me really is a great go to pallet. The matte shades are perfect for different looks with your upper and inner crease, and all the shimmers provide an endless amount of a variety of looks to enhance your lid. I just would be happier if there was a different name on the outside. I will later do a whole post on what my issues with morphe are, as well as how I feel having used them for a couple of months, but all and all the colors in this pallet are definitely ride or die worthy.
I have been a die hard fan of the voluminous mascara line forever. When I saw they branched there line out, I had to try it. This won me over huge and is officially now my favorite mascara ever. I do not like runny mascaras. I also do not like a mascara that doesn't thicken your lashes. This mascara does everything I need a mascara to do. It thickens, lengthens, and most importantly it layers beautifully. Every time I wear this without fake eyelashes, I am always asked about what mascara I use. Well hunny, here it is!
This brow kit does everything you need a brow kit to do. It has 8 differnet colored powders and 4 different colored waxes whether you are using this on yourself, a client, or multiple clients, this is the one and only pallet you will need to grab. The quality of this is through the roof. It genuinely glides across your brows like butter and makes for the easiest application ever. I love ABH but nothing beats this price point and how much product you get.
The one product I use the least is lip products. I know this sounds silly but I like to be able to kiss my husband as much as possible and kisses are super limited when I have lippies on, but when I do these are my go to! My number one lip color of all time is Mac Pink Plaid lipstick. Everything about it is perfect. The shade, the texture, all of it is lip heaven for me. I usually always apply this with my NYX lip liner. The NYX lip liner is amazing for pair with a lippie or to wear on its own. The next is NYX copenhagen which is an amazing burgundy for fall time. One major bummer is about the MAC Viva Glam lip glass is it was a limited edition and I cannot find it anywhere anymore. I also love the Benefit exfoliator for prepping your lips before any lip color application.
This cleaner is cheap and does the job wonderfully. I use one spray per each brush and this bottle has lasted me forever.
This brush is huge. Pictures do not do it justice. This is my go to brush for applying highlight.
This is my daily over all face powder brush. It is extremely large and fluffy and is incredible for applying all over face powder!
I use this brush when it comes time to blend my contour. The way the bristles are positioned is perfect for getting out any harsh lines without over blending!
When it comes to applying my foundation, I always go back and forth between my beauty blender or this brush. I think this brush gives way more of an over all full coverage look than the beauty blender, it it also leaves your makeup streak free!
I will use this brush to set under my under eyes, as well as carve out my contour line.
This is also my other go to for blending. Most times I've seen this brush used, I see it used to apply foundation however over the years I have noticed this blends out harsh lines like no other!
If you are looking for a nice sleek contour, this brush is going to be your baby! The angle of the brush makes it so easy for such a flawless angled application, and allows such an easy glide throughout your cheek bones and forehead region.
It is perfectly small and perfectly dense to apply your blush flawlessly to your cheek bones without being over powerful.
This is the brush I use when I begin my eyeshadow. It is perfect for that very first blending shade.
I have searched forever for a perfect brow brush and I finally find out. This is angled just enough to create sharp brows but there are also the perfect amount of bristles to pick up a good amount of product.
This is my secondary brush when applying my transition shade to my shadows and also gives a flawless blend.
When you want to define your crease, this brush is the brush you need to be grabbing. It picks up the perfect amount of product without causing the shadow to go all over the place.
I love me some gel liner, and this brush is perfectly thin to allow for a sharp application.
This is my little secret on how I get my liner sharp as can be. I will dip this brush into makeup remover and use it to clean up any harsh or uneven lines from the liner.
This brush picks up shadow perfectly and gives you the perfect pat when applying lid shadow.
If you want to define your inner crease for that last little bit of edge, this brush fits nice and snug into your create and blends into the rest of your shadow without messing up the beauty you've already created!
